Programs & Services
JSEI provides coordinated supports that reduce stop-out risk during reentry—especially housing disruption, financial gaps, and cross-system friction that undermines enrollment and persistence.
We bridge the gap between incarceration and graduation. Our programs are designed to remove the institutional friction that prevents justice-impacted students from thriving.
JSEI primarily serves formerly incarcerated and justice-impacted individuals in California. College enrollment is not required. Support may be offered before enrollment, during enrollment, or during re-enrollment after stop-out.
Services are offered based on capacity and funding restrictions.
Note: Support intensity depends on capacity and funding, but deadlines help us triage.
JSEI tracks stability and persistence indicators aligned with partner evaluation and reporting. Metrics may include housing continuity, enrollment persistence, workforce steps, and barrier reduction outcomes.
De-identified reporting may be used for grant compliance and program improvement.
